Thank You!

The 2012 AMSA 5K Race for Charity featured 24 runners this year. The weather was cool and cloudy but spirits were high and both participants and volunteers had a great time. Here are the top times from this year's race:

Congratulations to our fastest runners and also to everyone who participated. The event raised $225 in support of the Free Clinic of Clinton County. WC-AMSA thanks all of our sponsors who provided door prizes and a special thanks goes out to Don Troike who helped set up the course and provided much of the equipment. Special thanks also to the sisters of Delta Omega Theta sorority for helping with traffic control again this year.

Get Those Running Shoes On!

Please join us for the 9th Annual AMSA 5K Race for Charity Saturday, March 31st. Registration (at the corner of College and Elm Sts) will open at 9:00. We will be drawing for door prizes at about 9:30 and the race will start promptly at 10:00. Door prizes have continued to flow in. Here is the list as of Friday morning:

  • 4 tickets to a Cincinnati Reds game.
  • Dayton Dragons fan gear.
  • 1 $20 gift certificate to The Pattery
  • 2 sets of movie tickets from Chakere's Theaters
  • 2 $15 gift certificates from Books 'N More
  • 1 $25 gift certificates from Swindler & Sons Florists
  • 2 $5 gift certificates from Jen's Uptown Deli
  • Merchanise from Ace Hardware.
We will also have T-shirts for the first 30 registrants and gift baskets for the fastest runners in each category.

The weather forcast is calling for mid-40s and cloudy but only 20% chance of rain.

Remember that your registratoin fee ($10 for adults, $5 for students) goes to support the Clinton County Free Clinic. Come on out and join us!

More Details On This Year's 5K.

Please gather between 9:00 and 9:30 AM on Saturday March 31 for this year's 5K. We will meet in the Kettering Hall parking lot and hold the race on the bike trail as usual.

We will be drawing for door prizes at about 9:30. Door prizes this year include Dayton Dragons gear, Cincinnati Reds ticket vouchers, Chakeres' theatre tickets and more!!! Come early to claim your race t-shirt. T-shirts are only available to the first 30 registrants and are sure to become collectors items (okay so we're lying about that part).

Registration fees are $10 for adults and $5 for students. Proceeds go to benefit the Clinton County Free Clinic.
